Welcome to the Fire Family! Here’s everything you need to know about ÊìÅ®ÈËÆÞ Early Orientation.

Be sure to complete the components in Step 5 of the admission process before you register!

So that you can save time during fall orientation, we offer Early Orientation events every summer, designed to help you get a head start on many of your essential start-of-semester steps.

While Early Orientation is not required, it is highly recommended, so that you can jump right into all the excitement of Welcome Week when you arrive.

About Early Orientation
Enjoy a day on campus! This in-person event gives you the chance to take care of your checklist while also getting another look at your beautiful new college home. Join us from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on one of the following Fridays: April 19, May 17, June 14, or July 19.

Before signing up for Early Orientation and preparing for Welcome Week, be sure to complete the components in Step 5 of the admission process.

Are You Fire Ready?

Fire Ready is the official clearance process at ÊìÅ®ÈËÆÞ. Remember, you must be Fire Ready to get a check-in appointment.

After arriving on campus, head to the Welcome Center to finish the Fire Ready steps that you haven’t yet completed. Remember, you can check your Fire Ready status at any time by logging in to . Refer to the list below for the locations of the departments you need.

  • Register for your classes/Meet with your advisor — Addison 1st Floor
  • Obtain Financial Clearance — Addison 2nd Floor
  • Submit your official transcripts — Welcome Center, Admission Suite
  • Health Services — Smith Hall (Be sure to submit your health forms via . Get details here.

Arrival & Check-In

In order to alleviate some of the traffic and lines, please plan to arrive during your designated check-in time.ÌýRemember, you must be Fire Ready to get a check-in appointment.

Check-In Appointments

Students who are Fire Ready will receive an email from our Housing department with a link to set up a check-in appointment. If you do not receive an email, please reach out to housing@seu.edu.

Arrival & Check-In

Once you arrive to campus, if you know you are Fire Ready please proceed to the appropriate residence hall first. All students who are NOT Fire Ready must complete the Fire Ready Steps before being able to check in.

Early Arrivals

Early arrivals are only permitted for designated groups and athletic teams. Students in these predetermined groups will receive specific instructions regarding their check-in. Early arrival check-in days and times will still be by appointment only. Please check your ÊìÅ®ÈËÆÞ email for more information.

The cost for Sunday’s brunch for all non-students is $10.25 per person.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Arrival & Check In

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Parents’ Session (Sciences Building, S107)
Join the student development staff for a time of information and Q&A. This concludes the parents’ portion of the orientation program.

5:30 PM | Family Dinner*Ìý (Mi Casa Café)
*Students only. This dinner is for all new students. This is a time to have dinner together and meet the First Year Experience team.

Welcome Week is one of the most memorable experiences that you’ll have at ÊìÅ®ÈËÆÞ. This will mark the beginning of your college career and your first steps into, perhaps, the greatest four years of your life. During these couple of days, you will get introduced to campus life, have a chance to get settled into your residence hall, and get to know our Student Development staff who will be guiding you through your journey here.
